The Boasen Drive System Journey
—From Proof of Concept to a Reliable System
I'm Jason, the founder behind Boasen. My quest began in 2018 with a simple desire: a perfectly accurate wall clock for my new home. A radio-controlled model failed me within a year. After the frustration of replacing batteries and searching for signals, it was replaced by a WiFi clock that has worked reliably ever since. This experience planted a simple seed: technology should deliver unwavering reliability.
Three years ago, I noticed a void: the overseas market offered almost no WiFi clocks. I saw an opportunity to serve global consumers, but the existing technical platform was not built for worldwide use. Driven by instinct, I spent six months rebuilding the WiFi module program from the ground up.
Our team then designed a distinctive clock and launched a small-scale trial in the U.S. The results were telling: all 80 units sold out within a month. Their reach was even more revealing: users across 30 U.S. states, with international orders shipping to 6 countries including Canada, Italy, Japan, and Singapore, seamlessly operating across 17 global time zones.
This trial was a pivotal proof-of-concept. It confirmed two things: first, a clear and diversified global demand for fully-featured smart clocks exists. Second, our meticulously developed architecture proved highly reliable—a fact supported by 2.5 years of real-world use without a single negative report on core functionality.
However, this success also illuminated the path forward. User feedback highlighted rigid features, while manufacturing exposed structural bottlenecks to scaling: the immense challenge of precision hand-alignment, the limits of manual testing, unsatisfactory power consumption, and inconsistent timekeeping between units.
We chose to see these not as obstacles, but as the definitive roadmap for a mature product. We committed fully to the journey, determined to transform each bottleneck into a cornerstone of a new standard. This relentless pursuit is what ultimately defines the Boasen Technology Platform today.

After trying to make so-called atomic clocks work, (which are merely radio controlled clocks tune to WWV), I invested in a Wi-Fi clock, and I have not been disappointed! As long as you have Wi-Fi, you will have a Clock that is accurate! If Wi-Fi is lost, it will continue to work as a quartz clock.

The radio syncing in Japan is a bit hit and miss, so l wanted to get one that uses WiFi, since that is everywhere at home, and NTP is accurate. This does exactly what l wanted, without issues and is not too bad looking. There were exactly 2 Wifi clocks to choose from when l looked, but now there seems to be quite a few more. l was just a bit too early.
